Pet Memorial Reclaim Agreement & Information

General Info:

    • Pet Memorial Reclaim commissions include reclaimed skulls and/or other bones, mummified paws or ears, wet specimen, or fully mummified specimen. Display options such as decorative frames and jars are available for all preservation options as well.
    • Reclaimed parts will be collected in accordance to client requests, but please be aware that certain requests may not be possible depending on the type, size, and quality of the pet upon receival. Please discuss your individual needs with me to figure out what is best for you and your pet.
    • Unfortunately at this time, I cannot process anything larger than a cat or small dog, as my space is limited. Please speak with me to find out if I have room to process your pet. If I do not have space at that time, I will discuss possible options, but in certain circumstances, I may have to decline the commission.
    • For best results, please freeze your pet until I can acquire it to start the process. (I know this is difficult for many, if you cannot bring yourself to freeze your pet, please speak with me about other options available for your situation.)
    • All prices for Pet Memorial Reclaim commission will depend on the size of your pet and the complexity of your request (A paw in a display will cost more than just a paw without a display.) General price points are listed for estimating your total, but true totals will be decided on an individual basis.

Bone/Skull Reclaim:

    • Depending on the size of your pet, this process can take anywhere from a few months, to a year. Please be prepared to be patient for the best results and to allow your pet to process peacefully.
    • Some small bones cannot be promised to be reclaimed. Unfortunately, small bones are easily lost during the decomposition process. I will do all I can to collect what is requested, but some bones like teeth, toe and joint bones, and tail bones may be missing. Full skeletons are never promised.
    • All bones will be cleaned and whitened unless requested otherwise. Display options are available for all bones.
    • Skull reclaim ~$50
    • “Full” skeletal reclaim ~$120
    • Other specific bone requests will be priced on an individual basis.

    Mummified Parts/Whole Mummification:

      • Whole mummified pets are only available for small and very small pets. Please speak with me about your pet to see if you qualify for this option.
      • Mummified parts are available for almost every pet, regardless of size and species. Mummified ears are available for any pet with ears to mummify. Mummified paws and ears will take anywhere from 4-8 weeks to process.
      • Mummified paws ~$25 each or ~$55 for all four
      • Mummified ears ~$15 each or ~$25 for both
      • Whole Mummified animals ~$50-120 depending on size

    Wet Specimen:

      • Wet specimen preservation is only available for smaller pets, and works best for reptiles (medium-large snakes also work). Paws of larger and smaller pets can also be preserved as wet specimen if requested.
      • It is imperative that your pet was frozen or given to me as soon as possible after it has passed. After a certain amount of decomposition, your pet will no longer qualify for wet preservation.
      • Wet specimen will take 6-10 weeks to process before they can be returned to you.
      • The price of your wet specimen will largely be based on size. Estimated prices will be ~$50 for small pets, ~$75 for medium pets, and ~$120 for large pets.

Display options and prices will vary depending on your pet as well as client requests. Please speak with me about customized displays.

    Leftovers:

      • If you do not request that all of your pet’s bones are returned to you, all leftover bones will be collected, cleaned, and used by me in future creations of bone artwork. If you do not want your pet’s bones to be used in future works, please request that all bones are returned to you at the cost of a full skeletal reclaim commission. If you do not want your pet’s excess bones back, but you don’t want them used in future works either, please be prepared to pay a $75 disposal fee, where I will find a place for your pet’s remains to rest undisturbed.
      • If you do not pay for your memorial commission or if you ghost me/don’t respond for an extended period of time, you will forfeit your pet and I will reclaim its bones and use them as I see fit. If a deposit was paid, but further payment was never sent, your deposit will be considered non-refundable and you will forfeit that as well.
